Analysis

The calculation of cross-sectional properties of general shapes, torsional properties in particular, often involves the solution of equations that require numerical approaches. Prosec uses the finite difference method to calculate over 30 section properties.

You can import cross-sections from the section database or use Padds to sketch the section and then export the sketch to Prosec. The section database is fully compatible with Prosec, so custom sections created in Prosec can be saved for use in Frame, Sumo, a selection of the design modules and even third party applications such as Autodesk Revit.

WIND PRESSURE ANALYSIS

Analysis

Wind eliminates the tedium of wind loading by computing the free stream velocity pressures, including frictional effects due to wind, on building structures based on a few simple inputs.

Three-dimensional depictions of input and output illustrate the wind direction and pressure vectors, thus reducing the effort of transferring wind loading to the correct regions of an analysis model. Currently cladded, mono- and double-pitched buildings are supported. Frame integrates with Wind via the portal and trussed frame wizards.

GUTTER SIZE DESIGN

Design

Analyse gutters and downpipe that drain roofs of building structures with the Gutter and Downpipe design module.

Using the requirements of BS EN 12056-3 – 2000, the module design gutters and down pipes to drain roof of building structures for specified rainfall intensities and design durations. The rainfall intensities can optionally be picked from a list of regions in the United Kingdom and South Africa. Gutter offers a 3D visualisation of the roof segment under analysis, and a roof and gutter draining diagram eases result interpretation.
