The program is a three-dimensional BIM modelling and analysis tool. With Sumo, you can build 3D models of structures using physical structural components such as beams, columns and slabs. Sumo is a new generation BIM compatible analysis and design tool that is continually evolving.

FRAME ANALYSIS

Modelling | Analysis

Frame Analysis performs frame and finite element analyses of 2D and 3D structures.

It can perform linear and non-linear static analysis as well as, buckling, modal, harmonic and seismic analyses of 3D models.

Frame is easy to learn and simple to use. Build your model using a combination of beams, shells and solid finite elements. Analysis results can be exported to various other PROKON modules for member or connection design. Results can be viewed and added to a calcsheet, both in graphic format or analysis reports.

Extend the functionality of Frame with the following add-on modules:

  • 3D
  • Finite element
  • Second order & buckling
  • Non-linear (requires Second order & buckling)
  • Dynamic analysis

These add-on modules require Frame to be able to run. Each add-on must be ordered separately. The pricing below is for Frame Analysis on its own.

What makes this module unique?

BEAM ANALYSIS

Analysis

The Beam module can be used to quickly analyse a beam.

The beam can be a single span beam or a single span taken from a continuous beam with the appropriate end conditions. The analysis results of steel beams can be post-processed with the steel member design module for combined stress, Combine.

What makes this module unique?

  • Simple input: Analysis is restricted to in-plane bending due to point loads and distributed loads, so input is much simpler than an equivalent model in Frame or Sumo.
  • Integrates with the section database and design modules.
  • Produces an output file for Combine to optimise beam section size.
  • Unlimited number of loads: Loading input may be simple, but an unlimited number of loads can be used.

ELAS

Analysis

Analyse beams on elastic support.

Elas was developed for rapid analysis of a beam or a slab on an elastic foundation.

This module allows for the analysis of beams or slabs with varying cross-sections along their lengths and the elastic foundation can include variations or gaps in the elastic medium and rigid supports. An unlimited number of loads may be entered.

PS

Analysis

The Plane Stress/Strain Analysis module can be used to perform a finite element analysis of a membrane of any general geometry subjected to plane stress or strain.

You combine simple polygons to model complex geometries, and the program automatically generates a suitable mesh for the analysis. Multiple load cases comprising point loads and UDLs can be applied to the outline of the model.

What makes this module unique?

  • Plane Stress and Plane Strain: Analysis of Plane stress and Plane strain cases are both supported.
  • Easy Geometry Input: Use the four input tables, i.e. Nodes, Supports, Material properties and Loads, to define the structure’s geometry and loading.
  • Automatic Mesh Generation: A mesh of isoparametric quadrilateral or triangular finite elements is automatically generated and optimised during analysis. Specify the grid spacing in the X and Y-directions as part of analysis parameters.
